BookTree Kirkland's Only Locally Owned Independent Bookstore offers New and Gently-Used Books

There are still people discovering Kirkland’s only new and gently-used independent bookstore. Thank you for telling people about BookTree @ 609 Market St.. It is YOUR store and I hope it can be part of the community for several years to come.

Every second Tuesday of the month we have the Reading Circle Bookclub. Read the book and be part of the discussion at 6:30 pm every second Tuesday of the month. The current book we are reading is on the events/calendar page.

Every 1st Saturday of the month we have a free writing workshop followed by our PIE reading and open mic. The workshop happens 4:24 pm to 6pm with guest hosts leading it on a variety of topics and all are welcome. At 6:15 pm we have a reading followed by an open mic. Check the calendar to see who is reading.

We also have author events and special talks and discussions at various times of the year. Consult the event calendar and our facebook page (BookTreeKirkland) for what’s happening. Happy to report that sometimes authors join us for our book club discussions too (and that’s a real treat!).

This time of the year business is much slower than usual and doesn’t pick up until October. So consider getting gift certificates and opening house accounts for yourself or others (it helps with cash flow a great deal).!

The BookTree GoFund Me campaign has been moderately successful and unfortunately necessary. I’m hoping you’ll consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign in the next couple of months. I still need to establish a reserve account for the store so I can pay bills on time and catch up on ones that are a little behind. Thanks for thinking about it. Thanks for sharing this GoFundMe with everyone you know who loves independent bookstores. https://www.gofundme.com/f/booktree-independent-bookstore-fundraiser
