Events - Events - Events - Mushrooms, New Author, Writing Workshops- Dugoni and more...

So many wonderful events happening at YOUR bookshop. We are getting back into the habit of having interesting authors doing meet and greets or full-blown book talks and signings.

Daniel Winkler and his very popular book about hunting wild mushrooms are featured Saturday March 18th. It is one of the very best and most useful guidebooks you can own on the subject of mushrooms you are likely to find in the Pacific Northwest. And stories? Well, don’t miss what will be a fun, entertaining and informative author event. March 18th at 4 pm (to 6pm).

On Saturday the 25th let’s welcome new author Traci Grant and her book After the Rotting. She’ll be here 4:30 pm to 6pm on March 25th. Shelby Marker praised the book: ‘Loved every minute of reading "After the Rotting." The author, Traci Grant, does an excellent job getting the reader hooked right from the get-go. The story telling painted a picture that made me feel I was right there with Syd. Multiple times I wanted to reach through the book to give Syd a big hug or share in a laugh with her. The nature metaphors throughout were wonderful. Beautifully done and a powerful reflection on the author.’ Meet Traci and her book on the 25th!!!

Nearly Every first Saturday BookTree has a free writing workshop followed by a reading and an open mic. (it’s the PoetryIsEverything First Saturday Event aka PIE) This one kicks or National Poetry Month! The writing workshop will be led by Risa Denenberg (4:24 pm to 6pm) and then the reading with Risa, Joseph S. Sisson, and Kenmore’s student poet laureate Sophie Smith at 6:15pm followed by an open mic! It’s all FREE on April 1st!!! Don’t miss it.

And on Wednesday April 5th we are having quite the event. One of our favorite authors Kirkland’s own Robert Dugoni has a brand new book, Her Deadly Game with a brand new character that might launch a brand new series which has been getting some of the best pre-publication reviews he has ever received! Very excited about this one. You will need to RSVP… we only have 35 available seats… and a few standing room only spots. So email booktreekirkland1@gmail.com and request a spot or two. Please include your phone number. Bob will be talking, answering questions and signing books 6pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday April 5th!!! There will also be a special interview with Bob in the Seattle Times (BookTree will be mentioned)!— watch for it!
