Workshop
Poets Priscilla Long and Bethany Reid will teach a 90-minute class inviting participants to look at models of poems of two types: the list poem and the poem using anaphora. There will be a handout including model poems. This is a generative workshop, so come prepared to write.
Bios---
Priscilla Long is a Seattle-based writer of poetry, fiction, history, science, and memoir, and a longtime independent teacher of writing. She is author of seven books, the latest being a book on thriving while aging, "Dancing with the Muse in Old Age." She has two books of poems, "Holy Magic" (MoonPath Press) and "Crossing Over: Poems" (University of New Mexico Press). She was the 2020 winter of MoonPath Press's Sally Albiso Poetry Book Award.
Bethany Reid’s stories, essays, and poems have recently appeared in One Art, Poetry East, Quartet, Passengers, Adelaide, Kithe, Descant, Peregrine, Cirque, and Catamaran. Her fourth full-length collection of poems, The Pear Tree: elegy for a farm, won the 2023 Sally Albiso Award and is due out from MoonPath Press winter 2023. She lives in Edmonds, Washington, and blogs about her writing life at http://www.bethanyareid.com.
