Bios: Robinson Bolkum was reared as a duplicate of Harpo Marx -though he talked way too much and did not learn to play the harp. His mother Geraldine and father Monroe constructed oddities of scrap-wood, metal & fabric and traded these things for provisions as motorists intruded. His brothers and sisters were quite the brood and it would be better to keep things entirely fictitious about these creatures. Young Robinson lived aboard a 1/4 scale of the Starship Enterprise that was procured illegally from a rabid fan of the 60's t.v. show. In his teens he would earn money by threatening to sing show tunes if people didn't donate something to his cause. He currently lives with his muse Mary in a palatial estate near Marysville, Washington. They raise ladybugs, teach senior citizens the jitterbug and hawk not one but 4 volumes of a serial poem Robinson wrote in the 14th, 16th, 18th, and 21st Centuries. His time travel pocket watch broke so we are stuck with him (at least for a while). [This biographical sketch is a re-written version of the About The Author segment From Concatenation: Book Three]
Julie Robinett decided (on a whim) in late 2011 that she would memorize one poem for each week, in 2012. While doing that, she fell in love with poetry. A few years later she began attending poetry readings ("just to listen") -- and was soon swept into writing (and sharing) her own poetry at open mics in Everett and elsewhere. In addition to poetry, Julie wants you to know she loves books, chocolate, shade, spiders, walking, dancing, and many kinds of music -- (including and especially: Zimbabwean marimba music). She has lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of her life and currently lives with husband, almost grown children, occasional spiders, and squirrels (not as pets) in Everett, Washington.
Special Guest: Dennis McGuire retired after 50 years working on and under the surface of the sea. He has been a commercial diver and salmon fisherman on the inside waters and off the coasts of Oregon, Washington & Alaska. He fished on the Copper River for 28 years as well as doing underwater salvage work. He built and ran the Port Townsend Dive Shop, teaching over one hundred students to dive from beginner to divemaster. He served in the U.S. Army, 1966 thru 1970 including one tour in Vietnam. He is a graduate of Edmonds High School 1965 and spent his younger years in Ballard at the Lockhaven Apartments. He is married to Pat, his partner of 43 years. and navigator aboard Calypso on our honeymoon voyage, which is the Ballad of Calypso.
