WE begin with a free creative writing workshop 4:30 to 6pm followed by

our PIE (PoetryIsEverything) reading & open mic 6:15 to around 8pm.

It's about Rhyme will be the theme of our 3rd Saturday Creative Writing Workshop led by writer/editor/publisher David D. Horowitz.

4:30 to 6pm. This will be followed our PIE Reading and open mic (6:15pm). There's a lot more to rhyme than Moon in June...and besides it's March. Join us.

Bios:

Shin Yu Pai is a poet, essayist, cross-media artist, and curator for the collaborative global exploration project Atlas Obscura. Her books include AUX ARCS, Adamantine, SIGHTINGS, and Equivalence. In March 2020, Entre Rios Books will publish Ensō, a 20-year survey of her work across creative disciplines including poetry, photography, public art, installation and performance. She served as the fourth poet laureate of the City of Redmond from 2015 to 2017.

Amber Nelson is the author of two full-length books of poetry, In Anima: Urgency and The Sexiest Man Alive (Spooky Girlfriend Press), as well as numerous chapbooks, most recently First Apocalypse (Magnificent Field). She was the co-founder of alice blue review, and founding editor of alice blue books. She lives in Seattle with her partner where she hikes, bikes and cooks a lot.

David D. Horowitz is the founder and manager of Rose Alley Press. He earned B.A. degrees in philosophy and English from the University of Washington and an M.A. in English from Vanderbilt University. His own work has appeared in numerous journals, including The Lyric, Candelabrum, Exterminating Angel, ArtWord Quarterly, Quill & Parchment, and The Sporting News. His books published by Rose Alley include Strength & Sympathy, From Notebook to Bookshelf, and six poetry collections: Streetlamp, Treetop, Star; Resin from the Rain; Wildfire, Candleflame; Stars Beyond the Battlesmoke; Sky Above the Temple; and his most recent, Cathedral and Highrise. He has also edited and published the Rose Alley anthologies: Limbs of the Pine, Peaks of the Range; Many Trails to the Summit and 2019's Footbridge Above the Falls. David lives in Seattle.
